Hoover UH30010COM Review

My previous vacuum cleaner, a Phillips bagless model, recently gave up the ghost so I had to shop around for a new one. The Phillips was ok, but it was a bit on the small side and it couldn’t really handle my deep carpets in the landing, so I had it in my mind that I wanted to go for something with a little bit more oomph as well as something that will last mw for many years. It hasn’t quite been years yet, but I am very happy with the replacement model I bought in: the Hoover UH30010COM.

The main reason that I bought this vacuum initially was that it was advertised as coming with 2 hoovers in the box – a main upright one and a portable handheld vacuum. The latter is known as “the canister” and since I have to spend a lot of time cleaning out my Ford it seemed like a no brainer to get one since the price was so good. The mini handheld Hoover comes with a range of attachments and it really is very lightweight so it’s great for cleaning the dirty windowsills in my house.

The main upright Hoover was far better than I expected however- I would even go as far as saying that it is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned! It is just so light and easy to use, and the suction power is far greater than anything else I have ever tried. I’m a bit stumped as to how they manage to get so much suction out of this Hoover but it cleans my deep carpets in one pass every time, which saves me a lot of minutes over the course of a week.

I especially like that there are little brushes at the side of the base that actually do something and clean all the hard to reach dust and dirt that is stuck in the corner at the kitchen. Since the cleaner is so light, I can also easily pick it up with one hand and go over the stairs one by one, and probably the most helpful feature that is built in is the 35 foot cord that means I don’t have to change sockets very often when I am cleaning downstairs – a small thing perhaps but hey I’m lazy!

While the Hoover’s performance cannot be questioned I am not so sure about why the bags are so expensive for the UH30010COM, but if you look around on eBay you can get them for around $4 but it is hard to find them for sale individually – what I mean is that the come in a combo pack of bags for the upright cleaner and canister, but if you are like me then you will find that you use the main upright cleaner a lot more frequently, so you end up with a stockpile of bags for the Canister. Even though the bags are expensive, they are massive, so luckily you don’t have to change them all that often.

The Hoover UH30010COM is a great product that has never let me down yet. It cleans my deep carpets, my hardwood floors, it is super light and the performance is unmatched by any other clean I have ever used. If you get a chance to buy one of these you won’t be disappointed!
